\n\nApache Superset\n---------------\nApache Superset is a data exploration and visualization web application.\n\nSuperset provides:\n* An intuitive interface to explore and visualize datasets, and\n create interactive dashboards.\n* A wide array of beautiful visualizations to showcase your data.\n* Easy, code-free, user flows to drill down and slice and dice the data\n underlying exposed dashboards. The dashboards and charts acts as a starting\n point for deeper analysis.\n* A state of the art SQL editor/IDE exposing a rich metadata browser, and\n an easy workflow to create visualizations out of any result set.\n* An extensible, high granularity security model allowing intricate rules\n on who can access which product features and datasets.\n Integration with major\n authentication backends (database, OpenID, LDAP, OAuth, REMOTE_USER, ...)\n* A lightweight semantic layer, allowing to control how data sources are\n exposed to the user by defining dimensions and metrics\n* Out of the box support for most SQL-speaking databases\n* Deep integration with Druid allows for Superset to stay blazing fast while\n slicing and dicing large, realtime datasets\n* Fast loading dashboards with configurable caching\n\n\nDatabase Support\n----------------\n\nSuperset speaks many SQL dialects through SQLAlchemy, a Python\nORM that is compatible with\n[most common databases](https://docs.sqlalchemy.org/en/rel_1_2/core/engines.html).\n\nA list of currently supported SQL databases can be found\n[here](https://superset.incubator.apache.org/#databases).\n\nApache Druid (Incubating)!\n------\n\nOn top of having the ability to query your relational databases,\nSuperset ships with deep integration with Druid (a real time distributed\ncolumn-store). When querying Druid,\nSuperset can query humongous amounts of data on top of real time dataset.\nNote that Superset does not require Druid in any way to function, it's simply\nanother database backend that it can query.\n\nHere's a description of Druid from the http://druid.io website:\n\n*Druid is an open-source analytics data store designed for\nbusiness intelligence (OLAP) queries on event data. Druid provides low\nlatency (real-time) data ingestion, flexible data exploration,\nand fast data aggregation. Existing Druid deployments have scaled to\ntrillions of events and petabytes of data.
