        "description": "The devil is in the details.\n\nA manifesto is of necessity a collection of mostly context free\nglittering generalities designed to convince through demagoguery\nrather than authority, fact, truth or reference.\n\nThis is _good_. We are all motivated by belief, emotion and the\nthings that inspire, whether we choose to admit it not.\n\nHowever, it would be nice if when manifesting a manifesto, one \ncould lend some context and credibility to the ravings of the \ninspired mind.\n\nThus manifestopheles.\n\nThe idea is that everything an individual writes is embedded in\ntheir own sense of what the words they use connote.\nmanifestopheles provides a wiki-like way of attached a manifesto\nto the details: a personal dictionary of words and phrases auto-\nlinked from the manifesto. Many manifestos, one dictionary.\n\n-=-=-\n\nThis idea is based on my previous thing, called warp, which would\nauto link words and phrases in documents attached to and within\na dictionary, creating a web of unintentional but perhaps meanginful\nconnections. \n\nmanifestopheles reimplements warp on a TiddlyWeb architecture,\ntaking advantage of bags and the recipe cascade to attach different\nmanifestos to a single dictionary, or even different dictionaries\n(what does manfiesto on dictionary A _mean_ compared to the same\nmanifesto on dictionary B?).\n\n-=-=-\n\nThe basic idea is that a manifesto is a tiddler A in bag B which is\npart of recipe C. Recipe C also includes bag D which is the dictionary.\nWhen tiddler A is displayed any phrases or words (phrases checked first)\nwhich are tiddler titles from bag D are displayed as links to the\ntiddler. When that tiddler is displayed, it to is parsed for\nphrases and words, creating links.\n\nAll this is embedded in a navigation and editing/annotating UI. For\nanybody there's:\n\n* What amounts to a recent changes.\n* A way (to be determined) to comment/annotate.\n\nFor the author/admin:\n\n* Any tiddler can be edited and saved back to its original home.\n* When text in any tiddler is selected, a button can be pushed\n  which creates a new tiddler with a title of the selected text\n  (normalized) and displays an editing interface.\n\nIn a deluxe version there would be a way to layer on functionality\nby adding in additional bags. For example, other people's dictionaries,\nturning annotations on and off, that sort of thing.\n\nChris Dent, 2010",
