It allows users\nto manage short hyperlinks to any Silva content item. It's\nparticularly useful for Twitter postings.\n\nInstead of sending a URL such as:\nhttp://www.yoursite.com/department/news/articlename (51 characters)\n\nIt\u2019s much better to send a URL like:\nhttp://yoursite.com/$jUe8eg (27 characters)\n\nAdditionally, Custom Short URLs can be created, for instance:\nhttp://yoursite.com/HappyNewYear (32 characters)\n\nThese provide a memorable URL that\u2019s better for communication since the\npath contains meaning as opposed to gibberish. It\u2019s especially effective\nfor usage in other mediums like email and print.\n\nWhen the extension is activated a *Short URLs* entry appears in Silva's\nSettings menu.
