PyLmod was created to support\nMIT's use of OpenedX for residential courses, but the library is open\nsource to enable easier access to that service for Python application\ndevelopers at MIT. PyLmod encapsulates the Learning Modules web service\nmaking it more pythonic and easier to incorporate into Python applications.\n\nThe MIT Learning Modules web service, maintained by MIT Information\nSystems and Technologies (IS&T), exposes an API to MIT systems of\nrecord for classes, students, and grades. Its documentation is available\nat these links.\n\nMIT Learning Modules web service documentation:\n\n `Gradebook module doc\n `_\n\n `Membership module doc\n `_\n\nGetting Started\n===============\nThe Learning Modules web service requires authentication by x.509\ncertificates. You must create an application certificate and configure\nthe Learning Modules web service to recognize it. MIT developers can\nuse this `IS&T guide `_ to create an application\ncertificate. The `MITx Knowledge Base `_\nalso contains an article 'MIT Application Certificates\" that explains\nthe steps in greater detail.\n\nOnce you have your application certificate you must get the Learning\nModules service to recognize it. The app certificate needs to have\nan account on the service and then the proper role(s) in the proper\ngroup(s). Send your application certificate to learningmod-support@mit.edu\nwith a request for access. Inform them what your application will do and\nthey will assist in configuring your certificate.\nThis service, maintained by MIT Information Systems and Technologies\n(IS&T) exposes an API to MIT systems of record for classes, students, and\ngrades. PyLmod was created to support MIT's\nuse of OpenedX for residential courses, but the library is open source\nto enable easier access for Python application developers at MIT.\n\nLicensing\n=========\nPyLmod is licensed under the BSD license, version January 9, 2008.
