        "description": "plotutils\n=====\n\nThis is where I keep matplotlib-related plotting utility functions I have found useful.\n\nInstallation\n------\nTo install::\n\n  pip install plotutils\n\n\nUsage\n------\n\nHow to use `setfig`:\n\nThis will create a new figure (same as plt.figure() call in\nmatplotlib)::\n\n  >>> from plotutils import setfig\n  >>> setfig(None) #or setfig()\n\nYou can also set the current figure to be a given figure number, clear it, and start over, e.g.: `setfig(3)`.\n\n`setfig(0)` will do nothing, implying you want to overplot on the currently active figure.\n\nI use the `setfig` function in every function that I write that makes\na plot, almost always as follows:\n\n.. code-block:: python\n\n  import matplotlib.pyplot as plt\n  def my_plot(x,y,fig=None,**kwargs):\n    setfig(fig)\n    plt.plot(x,y,**kwargs)",
