See\nhttp://nineml.net/software/ for a list of software that support NineML_.\n\nAlso included is a simple Python module 'ninemlcatalog'\nfor convenient access to the models stored in the catalog using the\n`NineML Python library`_.\n\n\nEditors\n-------\n\nThe NineML Catalog is maintained by the NineML committee\n(http://nineml.net/committee).\n\n\nInstallation\n------------\n\nTo \"install\" the XML models in the NineML Catalog simply clone the repository\nto somewhere sensible on your local computer (e.g. $HOME/git/nineml-catalog),\nand then you can reference the models from other NineML documents using either\nrelative or absolute URLs. Before cloning, it is best to create a fork of the\ncentral repo (https://github.com/INCF/nineml-catalog) so you can backup any\nmodifications to your own GitHub repo, and then open merge requests with the\ncentral repo (see Contributing_).\n\nTo install the python module you will need to install the `NineML Python library`_.\nThen simply add the 'python' directory in the catalog repository to your\nPYTHONPATH. Once `NineML Python library`_ is installed you will then be able\nto run the unit-tests by the command\n\n  $ python -m unittest test\n\nfrom the git repository directory and it will attempt to load and validate\nevery model in the catalog.\n\n.. note: The Python ninemlcatalog package can also be installed from the\n         Python Package Index (PyPI). However, this approach is not recommended\n         for general use (it is designed for installations in testing\n         environments), as it is better to have a separate catalog per user.\n\n\nContributing\n------------\n\nContributions to the catalog are most welcome. To add a model or amend an \nexisting one simply make the changes to your local model, push them to your\nGitHub fork and open a pull request to the master branch of the INCF fork with\na brief explanation of what your model models or amendment fixes\n(see https://help.github.com/articles/using-pull-requests/).\n\n\nTo make merging with the central repository feasible it is strongly recommeded\nthat you make any distinct sets of changes in separate feature branches from\nthe central repo's master branch and then merge them together to create your\n\"develop\" branch of the catalog with all your customisations.\n\nBefore opening a pull request, please add the author information and relevant \nscientific citations to comments within the annotations block of the document.\nIt is also encouraged to create or link your model with an entry on\nOpen Source Brain\n(see http://www.opensourcebrain.org/docs#Creating_Your_Own_Project).\n\n.. _NineML: http://nineml.net\n.. _`NineML Python Library`: http://nineml-python.readthedocs.io\n\n\n",
