        "description": "# mwman - A package manager for MediaWiki\n\nmwman is a python-based package manager for the MediaWiki wiki software.\n\nIt strives to automate the installation of extensions, skins and even MediaWiki itself.\n\n**Warning**: mwman is still in early development and may not be ideal for your production environment needs. Be cautious and have backups!\n\n## Usage\n\n```sh\n$ mwman install checkuser $PATH_TO_WIKI # Installs and enables the checkuser extension\n$ mwman uninstall checkuser $PATH_TO_WIKI # Removes it again\n$ mwman activate/deactivate checkuser $PATH_TO_WIKI # Activate / Deaectivate an extension\n$ mwman install-mediawiki master $PATH_TO_WIKI # Installs the master branch of MediaWiki into $PATH_TO_WIKI\n```\n\n## Limitations / Issues\n\n- Real support is only provided for the latest master version\n- No support for sets of packages\n- Many steps of the MediaWiki installation still have to be done manually\n- The extension loader is not a proper extension itself\n- No search feature\n- No support for third-party repositories\n- Only supports git for obtaining packages\n- No support for different versions of packages\n- Very limited metadata information\n- No way to view package details\n\nThese may change as the project progresses in maturity.\n\n## Disclaimer\n\nThis software comes without any warranty.\n\nThis software is not associated with the MediaWiki development team nor the Wikimedia Foundation.\n\n## License\n\nmwman is free software and licensed under the terms of the MIT License.
