        "description": "mapy (modeling-analysis-python)\n====\nTool to integrate different pre-processor platforms (Abaqus, NASTRAN, SimXpert).\nThe models can be loaded in the Python environment and passed from one\nplatform to another.\n\nComposite\n---------\nA lot of effort has been done in the composite module in order to provide\nefficient and convenient means to calculate the stiffness matrix ABD of\na laminated composite structure using the Classical Laminated Plate Theory\n(CLPT). When the First-order Shear Deformation Theory (FSDT) is used the user\ncan calculate the matrix ABDE, with E containing the terms related to the\ntransverse shear strains.\n\nSymPy utils\n-----------\nThe highlight is the differential operator useful to represent and evaluate\nstrain-displacement matrices (kinematic relations). Many other functions used\nby other modules are also available.\n\nStructural analysis\n-------------------\nMore implementation effort has been applied on structural analysis,\nbut it must be improved for any finite element modeling purpose.\n\nAlready developed\n-----------------\n- capability to read NASTRAN cards\n- multiple coordinate systems capability \n- a simple solver for truss elements (RODs)\n- differential operator in SymPy to help on semi-analytical tools\n\nUnder development \n-----------------\n- capability to interface (read/write) thourgh ABAQUS API \n- fitting cloud of measured points to a given shape function\n\nTo be developed\n---------------\n- a fixed object id for all grids, elements,\npoints etc which will keep all references\n\neven if the user changes the entities' ids. Currently there is a lot of search based on python dictionaries by the entity id\n\n- capability to write NASTRAN cards \n- capability to write ABAQUS cards \n- capability to interface with SimXpert? API (read/write) \n- finite element solver for linear analysis (rods, beams, plates and solids)\nOBS: requires numpy, scipy.
