This package can be \nused to read/write data to HiFiBerry DSP boards using the Beocreate TCP \nserver.\n\nInstallation\n============\n\nBefore installing the dsptoolkit, you need to have a working Python 3\ninstallation (>=3.5) and a working pip. You also need to enable SPI as\ndsptoolkit needs SPI to communicate with the DSP.\nCheck out \nhttps://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2014/08/enabling-the-spi-interface-on-the-raspberry-pi/\n\nYou can then install the toolkit by just running\n\n sudo pip3 install --upgrade hifiberrydsp\n\nThis will only install the software, but not activate the server.\nDepending on your system, you might need to create a startup script \nor a systemd unit file for this.\n\nIf you're using a Debian based system (e.g. Debian, Raspbian), there\nis a script that does all the work for you. Just run the following \ncommand:\n\n bash <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hifiberry/hifiberry-dsp/master/install-dsptoolkit)\n\n\nsigmatcpserver\n==============\n\nThis server runs in background and provides a TCP interface (port 8089) \nto access DSP functions. It is compatible with SigmaStudio. That means \nyou can directly deploy DSP programs from SigmaStudio and change \nparameters online.\n\nThe server automatically dumps the so-called parameter RAM to the file \nsystem when it terminates. On startup, it checks for a parameter RAM \nfile and if it exists it writes it back to the parameter memory. This \nensures that parameters like volume controls, filter parameters, switch \nsettings will be automatically restored even if they are not saved in \nthe EEPROM. \n\nThe server accepts the following command line parameters:\n\n-v         Verbose output.\n--alsa     Create an ALSA volume control that is synced with the volume \n           control of the running DSP program\n\nCommand line utility\n====================\n\nThe dsptoolkit command is the main command line tool to communicate \nwith the DSP TCP server. The command line parameters are documented\nin doc/dsptoolkit.md\n\n\nREW integration\n===============\n\nThe software can be used to push filters created by Room Equalisation \nWizard (REW) to the DSP.\nHave a look at the guide in /doc/rew-basics.md\n\nDSP profile format\n==================\n\nDSP profiles can be generated directly in SigmaStudio.
