Download and extract `the latest version of Googkit <https://github.com/googkit/googkit/releases>`_\n\n\n2. Put it into a preferred place::\n\n     $ mv googkit /usr/local\n\n\n3. Add environment variables::\n\n     export GOOGKIT_HOME=/usr/local/googkit\n     export PATH=$PATH:$GOOGKIT_HOME/bin\n\n\nWindows\n~~~~~~~\n\n1. Create a project directory and initialize::\n\n     $ mkdir my_project\n     $ cd my_project\n     $ googkit init\n\n\n2. Download Closure Tools::\n\n     $ googkit setup\n\n\n3. Develop your web app in ``development/``\n\n   Modify existing scripts, or add your awesome scripts\n   to ``development/js_dev``.\n\n   After adding/removing scripts, you need to update dependency information::\n\n     $ googkit ready\n\n\n4. Build your project\n\n   Building the project including JavaScript files compilation improves\n   performance and makes them unreadable::\n\n     $ googkit build\n\n   If it succeed, output files will be stored in ``production/``.\n\n\n\n\nProject Structure\n-----------------\n:googkit.cfg:  config file of the project\n:closure/:     stores Closure Tools\n:development/: for development\n:debug/:       for debug (it will be created if debug is enabled)\n:production/:  for production\n\n\n\n\nRunning Unit Tests\n------------------\nYou can run `jsunit-style <http://people.apache.org/~dennisbyrne/infoq/js_tdd.2.htm>`_\nunit tests.\n\n\n1. Create a HTML file for testing\n\n   Copy `example_test.html <https://github.com/googkit/googkit/blob/master/template/development/js_dev/example_test.html>`_\n   into the same directory as the target, then rename it to\n   ``{target_name}_test.html``.\n\n   If you don't like the default name ``{target_name}_test.html``, you can\n   change it by ``test_file_pattern`` in ``googkit.cfg``.\n\n\n2. Write unit tests\n\n\n3. Apply config changes and update dependency information::\n\n     $ googkit ready\n\n\n4. Run unit tests\n\n   Open the test html file in your browser.\n\n   If you want to run all tests, open ``development/all_tests.html``\n   in your browser with **http scheme** (doesn't work with file scheme).\n\n\n\n\nTips\n----\n\n\nRenaming a Compiled Script\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\nEdit ``compiled_js`` in ``googkit.cfg``.\nAfter editing, apply it with a following command::\n\n  $ googkit ready\n\n\nPreventing Some Scripts from Compiling\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\nPlace them outside ``development/js_dev``.\nScripts that are in it will be compiled and removed in production.\n\n\nDebugging a Compiled Source\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\nChange ``is_debug_enabled`` to ``yes`` in ``googkit.cfg`` and build it::\n\n  $ googkit build\n\nThen you can use debugging features in ``debug/``.\nThis option makes compilation slow.\n\n\nUsing Source Map\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\nGoogkit generates a source map file ``script.min.js.map`` within ``debug/``,\nso you can use `Source Map V3 <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1U1RGAehQwRypUTovF1KRlpiOFze0b-_2gc6fAH0KY0k/edit?pli=1>`_\nif your browser supports it.\n\nFor reason of obfuscation, source map file will **NOT** be stored\nin ``production/``.\n\n\n\n\nMisc\n----\n\n\nThe Googkit team\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\n- cocopon (cocopon@me.com)\n- OrgaChem (orga.chem.job@gmail.com)\n\n\nLicense\n~~~~~~~\nGoogkit are licensed under MIT License.\nSee ``LICENSE.txt`` for more information.",
