It requires only 27 MB of storage and is specially accurate\nwith respect to the position of Earth's Moon.\n\n:Name: DE421 (February 2008)\n:Years: 1900 through 2050\n:Planets: Yes\n:Sun/Moon: Yes\n:Nutations: Yes\n:Librations: Yes\n:Report: `Folkner, Williams, Boggs (2009) [PDF] `_\n:Size: 27 MB\n\nThe JPL called this ephemeris is a \"significant advance\" over\npredecessors like `DE405 `_ / `DE406\n`_ and cited accuracies that are in\nmany cases ten times greater, such as giving the position of Venus\nwithin 200m and the positions of Earth and Mars within 300m over the\nlast decade. Note that even greater accuracies are achieved, for\nMercury and Venus in particular (but not for the Moon), by `DE423\n`_ which also has the advantage of\ncovering a 400-year period instead of only 150 years.\n\nGreater accuracy can also be expected from the long-term ephemeris\n`DE422 `_ since it incorporates more\nspacecraft observations than DE421. It also covers a period of 6000\nyears, making it useful to astronomy historians. But as it requires a\nhalf-gigabyte of disk space, some users may prefer DE421.\n\nTo compute using this ephemeris in Python, see the `jplephem\n`_ package.", "description_content_type": null, "docs_url": null, "download_url": "UNKNOWN", "downloads": { "last_day": -1, "last_month": -1, "last_week": -1 }, "home_page": "https://github.com/brandon-rhodes/python-jplephem/", "keywords": null, "license": "MIT", "maintainer": null, "maintainer_email": null, "name": "de421", "package_url": "https://pypi.org/project/de421/", "platform": "UNKNOWN", "project_url": "https://pypi.org/project/de421/", "project_urls": { "Download": "UNKNOWN", "Homepage": "https://github.com/brandon-rhodes/python-jplephem/" }, "release_url": "https://pypi.org/project/de421/2008.1/", "requires_dist": null, "requires_python": null, "summary": "JPL Planetary and Lunar Ephemeris DE421 for the jplephem package.", "version": "2008.1" }, "last_serial": 2038023, "releases": { "2008": [], "2008.1": [ { "comment_text": "", "digests": { "md5": "6b0e673d2bd49ec0ad481e20beac8f9c", "sha256": "a66faf7be328573d0028e45632ba614dd573cee88e3b6f099059149acc024df8" }, "downloads": -1, "filename": "de421-2008.1.tar.gz", "has_sig": false, "md5_digest": "6b0e673d2bd49ec0ad481e20beac8f9c", "packagetype": "sdist", "python_version": "source", "requires_python": null, "size": 27302342, "upload_time": "2014-01-06T17:54:05", "url": "https://files.pythonhosted.org/packages/df/17/7b51632178631836276a375a9cc38dab5887f101cfb26a10027f64334179/de421-2008.1.tar.gz" } ] }, "urls": [ { "comment_text": "", "digests": { "md5": "6b0e673d2bd49ec0ad481e20beac8f9c", "sha256": "a66faf7be328573d0028e45632ba614dd573cee88e3b6f099059149acc024df8" }, "downloads": -1, "filename": "de421-2008.1.tar.gz", "has_sig": false, "md5_digest": "6b0e673d2bd49ec0ad481e20beac8f9c", "packagetype": "sdist", "python_version": "source", "requires_python": null, "size": 27302342, "upload_time": "2014-01-06T17:54:05", "url": "https://files.pythonhosted.org/packages/df/17/7b51632178631836276a375a9cc38dab5887f101cfb26a10027f64334179/de421-2008.1.tar.gz" } ] }
