The emphasis here is on testing what\n the user may input and see, and the system is largely tested as a black box.\n We use PloneTestCase to set up this test as well, so we have a full Plone site\n to play with. We *can* inspect the state of the portal, e.g. using\n self.portal and self.folder, but it is often frowned upon since you are not\n treating the system as a black box. Also, if you, for example, log in or set\n roles using calls like self.setRoles(), these are not reflected in the test\n browser, which runs as a separate session.\n \n Being a doctest, we can tell a story here.\n \n First, we must perform some setup. We use the testbrowser that is shipped\n with Five, as this provides proper Zope 2 integration. Most of the\n documentation, though, is in the underlying zope.testbrower package.\n \n >>> from Products.Five.testbrowser import Browser\n >>> browser = Browser()\n >>> portal_url = self.portal.absolute_url()\n \n The following is useful when writing and debugging testbrowser tests. It lets\n us see all error messages in the error_log.\n \n >>> self.portal.error_log._ignored_exceptions = ()\n \n With that in place, we can go to the portal front page and log in. We will\n do this using the default user from PloneTestCase:\n \n >>> from Products.PloneTestCase.setup import portal_owner, default_password\n \n >>> browser.open(portal_url)\n \n We have the login portlet, so let's use that.\n \n >>> browser.getControl(name='__ac_name').value = portal_owner\n >>> browser.getControl(name='__ac_password').value = default_password\n >>> browser.getControl(name='submit').click()\n \n Here, we set the value of the fields on the login form and then simulate a\n submit click.\n \n We then test that we are still on the portal front page:\n \n >>> browser.url == portal_url\n True\n \n And we ensure that we get the friendly logged-in message:\n \n >>> \"You are now logged in\" in browser.contents\n True\n \n \n -*- extra stuff goes here -*-\n The shortlinks content type\n ===============================\n \n In this section we are tesing the shortlinks content type by performing\n basic operations like adding, updadating and deleting shortlinks content\n items.\n \n Adding a new shortlinks content item\n --------------------------------\n \n We use the 'Add new' menu to add a new content item.\n \n >>> browser.getLink('Add new').click()\n \n Then we select the type of item we want to add. In this case we select\n 'shortlinks' and click the 'Add' button to get to the add form.\n \n >>> browser.getControl('shortlinks').click()\n >>> browser.getControl(name='form.button.Add').click()\n >>> 'shortlinks' in browser.contents\n True\n \n Now we fill the form and submit it.\n \n >>> browser.getControl(name='title').value = 'shortlinks Sample'\n >>> browser.getControl('Save').click()\n >>> 'Changes saved' in browser.contents\n True\n \n And we are done! We added a new 'shortlinks' content item to the portal.\n \n Updating an existing shortlinks content item\n ---------------------------------------\n \n Let's click on the 'edit' tab and update the object attribute values.\n \n >>> browser.getLink('Edit').click()\n >>> browser.getControl(name='title').value = 'New shortlinks Sample'\n >>> browser.getControl('Save').click()\n \n We check that the changes were applied.\n \n >>> 'Changes saved' in browser.contents\n True\n >>> 'New shortlinks Sample' in browser.contents\n True\n \n Removing a/an shortlinks content item\n --------------------------------\n \n If we go to the home page, we can see a tab with the 'New shortlinks\n Sample' title in the global navigation tabs.\n \n >>> browser.open(portal_url)\n >>> 'New shortlinks Sample' in browser.contents\n True\n \n Now we are going to delete the 'New shortlinks Sample' object. First we\n go to the contents tab and select the 'New shortlinks Sample' for\n deletion.\n \n >>> browser.getLink('Contents').click()\n >>> browser.getControl('New shortlinks Sample').click()\n \n We click on the 'Delete' button.\n \n >>> browser.getControl('Delete').click()\n >>> 'Item(s) deleted' in browser.contents\n True\n \n So, if we go back to the home page, there is no longer a 'New shortlinks\n Sample' tab.\n \n >>> browser.open(portal_url)\n >>> 'New shortlinks Sample' in browser.contents\n False\n \n Adding a new shortlinks content item as contributor\n ------------------------------------------------\n \n Not only site managers are allowed to add shortlinks content items, but\n also site contributors.\n \n Let's logout and then login as 'contributor', a portal member that has the\n contributor role assigned.\n \n >>> browser.getLink('Log out').click()\n >>> browser.open(portal_url)\n >>> browser.getControl(name='__ac_name').value = 'contributor'\n >>> browser.getControl(name='__ac_password').value = default_password\n >>> browser.getControl(name='submit').click()\n >>> browser.open(portal_url)\n \n We use the 'Add new' menu to add a new content item.\n \n >>> browser.getLink('Add new').click()\n \n We select 'shortlinks' and click the 'Add' button to get to the add form.\n \n >>> browser.getControl('shortlinks').click()\n >>> browser.getControl(name='form.button.Add').click()\n >>> 'shortlinks' in browser.contents\n True\n \n Now we fill the form and submit it.\n \n >>> browser.getControl(name='title').value = 'shortlinks Sample'\n >>> browser.getControl('Save').click()\n >>> 'Changes saved' in browser.contents\n True\n \n Done! We added a new shortlinks content item logged in as contributor.\n \n Finally, let's login back as manager.\n \n >>> browser.getLink('Log out').click()\n >>> browser.open(portal_url)\n >>> browser.getControl(name='__ac_name').value = portal_owner\n >>> browser.getControl(name='__ac_password').value = default_password\n >>> browser.getControl(name='submit').click()\n >>> browser.open(portal_url)\n \n \n \n \n Contributors\n ************\n \n Peter Dyson, Author\n \n \n Download\n ********", "description_content_type": null, "docs_url": null, "download_url": null, "downloads": { "last_day": -1, "last_month": -1, "last_week": -1 }, "home_page": "www.cannonscientific.com", "keywords": "plone google shortlink short link", "license": "GPL", "maintainer": null, "maintainer_email": null, "name": "csci.shortlinks", "package_url": "https://pypi.org/project/csci.shortlinks/", "platform": "UNKNOWN", "project_url": "https://pypi.org/project/csci.shortlinks/", "project_urls": { "Homepage": "www.cannonscientific.com" }, "release_url": "https://pypi.org/project/csci.shortlinks/0.1dev/", "requires_dist": null, "requires_python": null, "summary": "UNKNOWN", "version": "0.1dev" }, "last_serial": 788567, "releases": { "0.1dev": [ { "comment_text": "", "digests": { "md5": "f867d1bef09d63b32a764369d15c3354", "sha256": "795fc32b169974ce7e6cd01867d96546b1c21c898b1f830f5dde770c735dec2a" }, "downloads": -1, "filename": "csci.shortlinks-0.1dev-py2.4.egg", "has_sig": false, "md5_digest": "f867d1bef09d63b32a764369d15c3354", "packagetype": "bdist_egg", "python_version": "2.4", "requires_python": null, "size": 33518, "upload_time": "2009-09-09T17:47:38", "url": "https://files.pythonhosted.org/packages/ea/0d/50bec665c4d767c2711d7b5999f7a302c7a595e1124124144409103af354/csci.shortlinks-0.1dev-py2.4.egg" } ] }, "urls": [ { "comment_text": "", "digests": { "md5": "f867d1bef09d63b32a764369d15c3354", "sha256": "795fc32b169974ce7e6cd01867d96546b1c21c898b1f830f5dde770c735dec2a" }, "downloads": -1, "filename": "csci.shortlinks-0.1dev-py2.4.egg", "has_sig": false, "md5_digest": "f867d1bef09d63b32a764369d15c3354", "packagetype": "bdist_egg", "python_version": "2.4", "requires_python": null, "size": 33518, "upload_time": "2009-09-09T17:47:38", "url": "https://files.pythonhosted.org/packages/ea/0d/50bec665c4d767c2711d7b5999f7a302c7a595e1124124144409103af354/csci.shortlinks-0.1dev-py2.4.egg" } ] }
