It is most suitable for long-running tasks that\n are primarily I/O bound, as the animations themselves will require some CPU\n time. It is strongly recommended to have a look at the brief introduction in\n the [Docs](https://clanimtk.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) before using `clanimtk`.\n If you just want to dive right in without reading any documentation, here is a\n minimal example.\n \n ```python\n import time\n from clanimtk import animation, animate\n \n @animation\n def hashes():\n return ((\"#\" * i).ljust(4) for i in range(5))\n \n \n @animate(animation=hashes()) # note that the Animation is called to produce an AnimationGenerator\n def sleep(duration):\n time.sleep(duration)\n return 42\n ```\n \n which results in the folowing animation:\n \n ![Simple animation](docs/images/example_animation.gif)\n \n The whole thing is explained in detail in the\n [Docs](https://clanimtk.readthedocs.io/en/latest/).\n \n ### Requirements\n \n `clanimtk` is pure Python, so all you need is Python 3.6 or higher and a\n terminal emulator that supports\n [ANSI escape sequences](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANSI_escape_code)\n (which most terminal emulators do!).\n \n ### Install\n \n #### Option 1: Install release version from PyPi with `pip`\n \n The latest release of `clanimtk` is on PyPi, and can thus be installed as with\n `pip install clanimtk` (with your own preferred options, of course).\n \n #### Option 2: Clone the repo and the install with `pip`\n \n If you want the dev version, you will need to clone the repo, as only release versions are uploaded\n to PyPi. Unless you are planning to work on this yourself, I suggest going with the release version.\n \n 1. Clone the repo with `git`:\n - `git clone https://github.com/slarse/clanimtk`\n 2. `cd` into the project root directory and install with `pip`.\n - `pip install --user .`, this will create a local install for the current user.\n - Or just `pip install .` if you use `virtualenv`.\n - For development, use `pip install -e .` in a `virtualenv`.\n \n ### License\n \n This software is licensed under the MIT License.
