Its main goal is to give users a flexible architecture for\ntheir monitoring system that is designed to scale to large environments.\n\nShinken is backwards-compatible with the Nagios configuration standard\nand plugins. Based on your linux distro you only need to do:\n\n  chkconfig --add shinken\n  chkconfig shinken on\n\nor :\n\n  update-rc.d shinken defaults 20\n\n\n\nWhere is the configuration?\n===========================\n\nThe configuration is on the directory, `/etc/shinken`.\n\n\nWhere are the logs?\n===================\n\nLogs are in /var/log/shinken\n(what did you expect?)\n\n\nI got a bug, how to launch the daemons in debug mode?\n=====================================================\n\nYou only need to launch:\n\n  /etc/init.d/shinken -d start\n\nDebug logs will be based on the log directory (/var/log/shinken)\n\n\nI switched from Nagios, do I need to change my existing Nagios configuration?\n=============================================================================\n\nNo, there is no need to change the existing configuration - unless\nyou want to add some new hosts and services.
