        "description": "Pyjamas-Desktop\n---------------\n\nPyjamas-Desktop is a cross-platform framework and applications widget set,\nbased on WebKit.  PyWebkitGtk is currently the basis for Pyjamas-Desktop,\nand it is conceivable that there will exist a PyWebkitQt4, and Pyjamas-Desktop\nwill run on top of that, as well.\n\nPyjamas-Desktop is similar to KiWi in that it provides an easy-to-use API,\nwhere you need not know - at all - that you are running PyGTK underneath.\n\nPyjamas-Desktop is actually a port of Pyjamas which is a web toolkit, so you\nalso have the option of running PyjamasDesktop applications as web\napplications - unmodified.\n\nThe Pyjamas Widget set is exceptionally comprehensive and yet is easy to use,\nproviding:\n\n    * Simple, Horizontal, Vertical, Docking, Decking, Popup, Stack, Tab,\n      Grid, Flow, Table and HTML Panels\n    * Text Labels and HTML including full CSS Stylesheet support and\n      full CSS properties\n    * Input, Password and Textarea input boxes\n    * List drop-downs including Multi-selection\n    * Buttons, Checkboxes and Radio-Buttons including groups.\n    * Form Submit Panel (providing file upload).\n    * Treeview, Menu and Menubar (vertical and horizontal). \n\nAdditional features, thanks to the underlying use of webkit, include:\n\n    * Full CSS Stylesheet functionality, both local, remote and direct\n      and simple API manipulation.\n    * Option of executing javascript, for full and complete manipulation\n      of the application.\n    * Loading of complete HTML Pages, both local and remote; full URL support.\n    * Plugin support for multimedia plugins such as Flash\n      (obsoleting the need for gtk-mozplugin)\n    * Access to XML, XSLT and AJAX.\n    * (Future: full SVG Canvas support, like HippoCanvas) \n\nIt's specifically worth noting that due to Pyjamas-Desktop's history, it purely\nprovides the \"V\" in \"MVC\" applications design, and that one option presently\nin use is the JSONRPC proxy client included, for communicating with the \"MC\"\nin the back-end of your application. In this way, the same application\nfront-end source code can be compiled with PyJamas (into Javascript/AJAX) -\nwith no modifications - to run with exactly the same back-end HTTP server that\nyour Pyjamas-Desktop application uses.\n\n\nRequirements\n------------\n\nPre-built amd64 .debs are available for download, providing pywebkitgtk-1.0,\nlibwebkit-1.0-2 and libwebkit-dev, here:\n\n    * http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=236659\n\nCurrently, Pyjamas-Desktop requires patched versions of both Webkit and\nPyWebkitGtk, as of 01-Sep-2008.
