        "description": "Deft: Easy Distributed Feature Tracking\n=======================================\n\nDeft is a simple distributed feature tracker (aka issue tracker,\ntask tracker, bug tracker) designed to work with a distributed\nversion control system such as Git.\n\nPrinciples\n----------\n\n\n-  All features have a status (e.g. new, in-development,\n   ready-for-testing, ready-for-deployment)\n-  Absolute prioritisation of features that have the same status\n-  Store feature database alongside the code in VCS, not in another\n   tool\n-  Store the feature database in plain-text files that play well\n   with VCS and diff/merge tools\n-  Don't re-implement functionality that is already in the VCS\n\nGetting Started\n---------------\n\nInstall from `PyPI`_ using easy\\_install or pip. For example:\n\n::\n\n    % pip install deft\n\nAfter that you can use the ``deft`` command to create, manipulate\nand query Deft feature trackers. Use ``deft --help`` and/or read\nthe `Quickstart Guide`_ to get started.\n\nSupport\n-------\n\nYou can join the `Deft discussion group`_.\n\n\nIssues are tracked with `Deft itself`_. If you want to raise issues or feature requests:\n\n-  Fork the repo & check it out locally\n-  Follow the 'Developing Deft' steps\n-  use the ``./dev-deft`` command to create a new issue\n-  commit the new issue\n-  send a pull request\n\nYes... there should be a tool to make this process simpler and easy\nfor a project's users to do.\n\nDeveloping Deft\n---------------\n\nTo work on the Deft code itself:\n\n\n-  You need `Python 2.7`_ and `virtualenv`_ installed\n-  Check out from `GitHub`_\n-  Run ``make env`` to create a python environment for development\n-  Run ``make`` to run all the tests.\n-  The ``dev-deft`` script will run deft from the development\n   environment.
